11:30 p.m.

Alright guys we are getting soooooo close.  Melissa is a 9+.  The nurse is going to check her at midnight and if she is a 10, the pushing begins!!!!  Looks like it is going to be tomorrow before the little guy gets here.  That means that he will be born on my mom's birthday.  We are kind of exited about that actually because his birth date will be 2-1-12.  A date that will be very easy to remember!  Anywho...if there are still people following, hang in there!  Nixon will be here before you know it!  Pictures are soon to follow!

10:37 p.m.

The nurse came in yet again.  Melissa is now at an 8+...We are getting more and more anxious!!!!  Thanks so much for all the support from everyone.  We hope this has made it easier for everyone to keep in touch.  Melissa is still loving the epidural...she said the needle poke was definitely worth the pain relief!

9:30 p.m.

The nurse came in again and checked Melissa.  She is at a 7 now.  She is ready to be done do keep saying your prayers.  Nixon's heart beat is all over the place with Melissa's contractions.

8:41 p.m.

Melissa is progressing much faster now.  The nurse just came in and checked her.  She is already at a 6!!  Only 4 more cm to go.  Both of our parents are in town now so she can have it any time.  Tyler I agree with you...I think the baby is still coming by today!  Melissa still feels great and is very anxious to see this little guy.  For everyone who doesn't know, his name is going to be Nixon!

7:27 p.m.

Alright...Melissa's epidural has fully kicked in and she is on cloud nine!  She has finally been able to get comfortable and is loving life.  The nurse just barely checked her and she is dilated to a 4+.  That means in the last hour she dilated more than a centimeter!!  WOOT!! Hopefully that means she will progress fast from now on!  Thanks for everyones prayers and thoughts.  I will continue to keep you posted!

Pictures of the Trooper!

She is doing awesome people.  Keep praying for her though!

5:53

Alright people, Melissa has now had her epidural.  She held off as long as she could before she had it.  We were here for 9 hours before she got it.  Her legs are slowly going numb and she said they feel weird when I touch them.  She is still dilated to about a 3 and progressing still.  We are going to have a long night and the doctor guessed that the baby will come on Feb 1st.  My mom is pretty excited because that is her birthday.  Now with no pain hopefully Melissa can get some sleep.  She is starving because all they will let her have is ice, suckers and popsicles!

3:52 p.m.

Well, we don't have much to update yet.  Melissa is still having regular contractions and is slowly progressing.  She isn't in a ton of pain yet, but she is uncomfortable.  Hopefully we will have more news for you guys shortly.

At the Hospital!

We are officially at the hospital waiting for our little boy to come out and see us!  Melissa had contraction all day yesterday and a few that woke her up in the night.  She continued to have contractions this morning as I headed to class.  I received a phone call at about 9 a.m. saying that we better just head in.  So  I ran home, grabbed the pregnant lady and we are currently sitting here waiting!  Melissa has continued to have contractions and she has now received some oxytocin.  Dr. Blackett is amazing and very nice.  She allowed us to stay here rather than sending us home.  She broke Melissa's water and now it is just a waiting game.  Lorn, Danette and Nicole have already made the trip here and are out at lunch.  My parents should be on there way at about 3:00.  Everything is going well so far.  We are very excited and can't wait to hold our little guy!

Frenchie

November 5th, 2011

For those who haven't heard yet, we have a little pet.  Her name is Frenchie and she is a Veiled Chameleon.  She is a little girl and very easy to take care of.  We decided to get her because we figured it would be good practice for the soon to come baby!  We feed Frenchie crickets and meal worms.  We turn her lights on in the morning when we wake up and then turn them off when we go to bed.  She is very easy to take care of.  We just hope that Nixon is as well behaved as she is!

Halloween

October 31st, 2011

This year for Halloween we headed home to good ole Burley Idaho for a fun time.  We were able to help our younger siblings with their costumes and make everyone look perfect.  Dax and I went as a Basketball player and the hoop and ball.  I was the hoop and ball of course.  We used my belly as the ball and tied a net around me.  Dax busted out the old school uniform with the short shorts, longs socks and feathered back hair.  We looked funny, but had a blast.  It was good to see the whole family.

It's a boy.

September 15, 2011

Today we found out that we are going to have a little baby boy!!!  We can't believe it.  All of Melissa's family wanted a little girl, and all of Dax's family wanted a little boy.  Melissa wanted a girl, and Dax wanted a boy.  Looks like Dax is the winner.  We are both very exited!  We already have a name for our little guy as well.  His name is going to be Nixon B. Greener.  The B. will stand for Barney.  He is still due on February 9th and everything looks normal and healthy.  He is growing properly and was very cooperative for the Ultrasound Technician.  He was pretty much posing for the camera already.  We can't wait to meet him!

Pregnant!!!

May 19th, 2011

Today was the day that we found out we were pregnant.  We had been trying for a couple of month with no success.  We began to worry and get frustrated that things weren't working.  We decided to get one more pregnancy test and see what it said.  We had used some tests before and all had said negative, but this time was different.  When we both looked down at the test to see what it said, all we could do was hug each other as we read PREGNANT.  We used one more test the next morning to be certain of the test results.  Yet again it said Pregnant.  It was a very special day for us and we already can't wait for the baby to be here.  It is so sureal to think that we are going to be parents in less than a year.  Who would have guessed that this day was coming so soon.  Now all we can do is wait!
