Update of the Last 7 Months (Sorry)

Alright everyone.  A lot of people keep asking us to update our blog.  Well we finally decided to listen to you all and here is the update.  This post could be pretty long so we might spread it out over several posts.  We wanted to start by showing what Nixon's first week was like.

Nixon's cousin Beckham came to visit him.  They are only a day apart.

Nana with her three grandkids.

Nixon getting his blood tested for jaundice.  We had to keep him in the "glow-worm" blanket for a week.

Before Nixon got too big to take cute baby pictures we grabbed Jami and got some adorable pictures of our little guy.  Here are a few of them.

We will be adding another blog post to keep you all updated soon.  We promise it won't be 7 months later!

We're Home

Dad and Grandpa at the hospital!

Ready to go to the pediatrician.
He likes to stick his legs straight up in the air.
Tanning!  Trying to make sure he doesn't have jaundice.

 AHHH So Nice!!

 Mom and Aunts!
There goes his leg again!

We got home yesterday about noon.  Sorry we didn't get any pictures up sooner, but we have been trying to figure things out!  Melissa is breastfeeding well and Nixon is just such a good baby.  We had to take him to the pediatrician to get his bilirubin checked for jaundice.  Lets hope everything is ok.  Here are lots of pictures for you guys!

Pictures

 Nixon Sound asleep.
  Nixon's first bath.
Melissa changing Nixon's first dirty diaper.
 Precious!

Look how little this guy is!

Today has been the most amazing day of our lives and also one of the longest!  We are currently still at the hospital with our new addition to the family.  Melissa has been working on breast feeding Nixon all day.  She realized that is wasn't as easy of a task as she had thought.  She is getting better at it though.  We know it is working because Nixon has unloaded on 2 diapers already and peed all over Melissa.  We still haven't gotten much sleep, but the adrenaline of the whole experience is keeping us going.  We had some visitors today which was nice and we were able to share our bundle of joy.  Melissa is a great mom and is very good at letting people hold her baby.  We will be staying in the hospital tonight and then heading home sometime tomorrow morning.  We talked to our pediatrician, and Nixon will be getting circumcised on Monday morning.  I already feel bad for the little guy.  Anyways, thanks again for all the prayers.  We felt them all day.  Keep checking back for updates!

11:30 p.m.

Alright guys we are getting soooooo close.  Melissa is a 9+.  The nurse is going to check her at midnight and if she is a 10, the pushing begins!!!!  Looks like it is going to be tomorrow before the little guy gets here.  That means that he will be born on my mom's birthday.  We are kind of exited about that actually because his birth date will be 2-1-12.  A date that will be very easy to remember!  Anywho...if there are still people following, hang in there!  Nixon will be here before you know it!  Pictures are soon to follow!

10:37 p.m.

The nurse came in yet again.  Melissa is now at an 8+...We are getting more and more anxious!!!!  Thanks so much for all the support from everyone.  We hope this has made it easier for everyone to keep in touch.  Melissa is still loving the epidural...she said the needle poke was definitely worth the pain relief!

9:30 p.m.

The nurse came in again and checked Melissa.  She is at a 7 now.  She is ready to be done do keep saying your prayers.  Nixon's heart beat is all over the place with Melissa's contractions.
